Ty’Ann is a woman of many colors. Gifted in ministry, savvy in business, highly educated and still makes room for fun, she leaves no stone unturned. Born and raised in Spanish Harlem “El Barrio”, New York, Ty’Ann’s spiritual formation began at The Greater Refuge Temple in Harlem, NY where the late Bishop William L. Bonner presided. Ty’Ann currently serves as Elder at New Life Cathedral (NLC) in Brooklyn, NY under the Pastoral leadership of Bishop Robert J. Rochford.

Affectionately known as the “Sneaker Preacher”, her ministerial abilities have impacted varying congregations, preaching and teaching the Word of God across the nation. An insightful instructor, Ty’Ann has led Bible courses at historical New York churches such as Abyssinian Church, Allen A.M.E. The Riverside Church and served as keynote speaker at The Marble Collegiate Church. Additionally, she has traveled the world contributing to academic conferences in Nigeria, Africa, leadership gatherings in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and Israel, revivals in Hyderarab, India and has served in missions in the Dominican Republic and Istanbul, Turkey assisting refugees from Syria and Africa.

Amongst her contribution to the building of the kingdom through preaching and teaching, creatively, she additionally expresses her love for God through song. Ty’Ann has served as Praise and Worship leader for over 10 years at her home church NLC, Brooklyn NY, as well as guest worship leader for a host of events along the east coast. Her musical ability has blessed her with the opportunity to record with notable artists Donnie McClurkin, Justin Timberlake and Matchbox 20. Additionally, she has vocally supported reputable artists such as Hezekiah Walker, Karen Clark-Sheard, Kim Burrell, Michael Bublé, Patti LaBelle, and others.
Ty’Ann holds strong to the importance of education, having obtained a Master of Divinity degree from New York Theological Seminary and both a M.B.A. in Business Management and B.S.B.A. in Marketing Communications from American International College, Springfield, MA. Currently she serves as Vice President of Ministries at Guideposts, a Christian non-profit media company. Additionally, she consults ministries and organizations regarding video production, business administration, and event management.

With a heart to give back to her community, Ty’Ann founded SonShine City, a mission and event-based organization encouraging young-adults to shine the light of Christ in their everyday living. Primarily, Ty’Ann’s desire is to walk in her “Daddy’s” will, in efforts to powerfully bring about His kingdom on earth. Her hope is to inspire and develop leadership skills in young women who lack spiritual, social and emotional guidance, by emphasizing a strong relationship with God and educational focus.
